Terms of service

Version 1 — placeholder document, lawyer review pending.

These terms describe how Calibr is provided in good faith but have not yet been reviewed by a qualified attorney. Specific regional requirements may need additional language we haven't added yet. This is not legal advice and does not create a contract on its own. We expect to publish a lawyer-reviewed v2 before Calibr's general-availability launch.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating a Calibr account or using the service, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old. If you’re signing up on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

2. Account responsibility

You’re responsible for keeping your credentials safe. Each user account is for one person — don’t share accounts across your team. Add team members via the User Management page.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • • Use Calibr to screen candidates without a lawful basis
  • • Use Calibr for purposes prohibited by law (discrimination, harassment, surveillance without consent)
  • • Use Calibr's outputs as the sole basis for adverse employment decisions without human review — our AI is decision-support, not decision-maker
  • • Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data beyond your own organisation's data
  • • Reverse-engineer the platform or any subprocessor's API behind it
  • • Use Calibr to train competing AI models
  • • Overload the platform with automated traffic outside our rate limits
  • • Dispatch voice calls to numbers on a Do-Not-Call list, to numbers your organisation is not authorised to call, or in jurisdictions where outbound AI calls are restricted
  • • Upload candidate data you don't have a lawful basis to process

4. Customer data ownership

You own your data. The CVs you upload, the job specs you write, the notes your recruiters add, the scores Calibr generates — all of it is yours. Calibr’s role is processor; you’re the controller. Export anytime via CSV in the product, or email us for a full org dump.

5. Service availability

We aim for high availability but don’t promise a specific uptime SLA at v1. We may perform maintenance with advance notice when possible, or emergency maintenance without notice when necessary.

6. Subscription, billing, refunds

See our pricing page for current tiers. Billing cadence (monthly / annual), trial mechanics, and refund policy will be set in your subscription agreement at signup. Quotas (CVs/month, voice calls/month) hard-block at the limit; quotas reset at midnight UTC on the 1st of each month.

7. BYO-API-key disclosure

Calibr uses Anthropic’s Claude models for CV scoring, voice screening, and the recruiter assistant. By default, your organisation brings its own Anthropic API key and is responsible for the costs that key incurs. We provide daily-budget guardrails in Settings (default $50/day for assistant, $500/day for scoring) to limit runaway costs, but you remain responsible for whatever the key spends within those limits.

8. Intellectual property

Calibr (the platform, code, design, brand) is owned by Syed Hasan (registered legal entity pending). We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service while your account is active. You retain ownership of everything you upload or generate.

9. AI-as-decision-support disclaimer

Calibr’s CV scores, voice-screening recommendations, and other AI-generated outputs are decision-support tools, not autonomous decisions. You must apply human review before taking adverse employment action against any candidate based on Calibr’s output. EU AI Act classifies recruitment AI as high-risk; explicit human oversight is required.

10. Confidentiality

We treat your candidate data and business operations as confidential. We don’t share them with anyone except the subprocessors listed in our Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of liability + indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calibr’s total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of $100 USD OR the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. You agree to indemnify Calibr against claims arising from your misuse of the service.

12. Governing law and disputes

Jurisdiction pending operator decision (Delaware USA, UAE DIFC, or India). This section will be finalised in v2 alongside legal entity registration.

13. Termination

You can close your account anytime by emailing us. On closure, we delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

14. Changes to terms

We’ll update these terms as the platform and business mature. Material changes will be notified in-product at least 14 days before they take effect.
